Welcome to the Akron-Canton Shambhala Meditation Center
“If you can visualize it, it will be there in the morning.”—Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche
The Akron-Canton Shambhala Meditation Center is a part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche and headed by Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche.

You have found a place where you can rest your mind and make friends with being human.
We offer public meditation, a core curriculum of Buddhist and Shambhala
teachings, as well as training in advanced contemplative practices, in a warm and peaceful environment.
We invite you to explore our diverse programs designed to help people of all traditions discover their inherent sanity, gentleness and humor.

We are located at 133 Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls, and have a satellite center in North Canton.
Parking at the Cuyahoga Falls location is in the CFO parking deck off of Second St., north of Portage. The entrance to the center is in the back of the building, south of the parking lot, slightly below ground level (look for the Tibetan prayer flags).
Free meditation instruction is available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6:30 PM and Fridays at 10 AM.

Meditation in Everyday Life
A five- week Thursday night class in the practical applications of mindfulness and awareness meditation practice.

Meditation in Everyday Life presents peaceful abiding
meditation, basic goodness, and ways that meditation practice can
improve the quality of our daily life. By deepening our experience and
understanding of ourselves through the practice of meditation, we more
fully become who we already are. We can then apply that clarity to daily life situations.
Class begins Thursday, January 12, at 7PM.
